The Toronto Maple Leafs dominate the Ottawa Senators 6-2 to take Game 1 of their first-round series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Toronto opened the scoring in the first period with Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

The Senators outhit the Maple Leafs 56-30 in Game 1 but many of their key young players including forwards Stutzle, Brady Tkachuk, Drake Batherson, Shane Pinto, Ridly Greig and Dylan Cozens, and defensemen Jake Sanderson, Thomas Chabot and Artem Zub each played their first Stanley Cup Playoff game.

Matthew Knies is the definition of a playoff performer with the Toronto Maple Leafs. At 22 years old, Knies is already making massive blocks, scoring crucial goals — including his netfront power play marker in the third period — and playing a team-high 22:19 in Game 1 against the Ottawa Senators.
