The Switch 2 is a big boy. That was my main takeaway from Nintendo’s long-awaited reveal of its next portable. How could you have watched that trailer and left with any other impression? It’s not like Nintendo showed much else.

Although Nintendo has finally revealed the Switch 2, questions remain about a release date and price. Potential Switch customers are budgeting their money and strategizing when to buy the flashy new console—or if 2025 is the time to buy the older OLED instead.

To celebrate the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo is hosting hands-on experience days around the globe. They’ll take place in April, May and June, which makes us think the console could be released after the experience days. With the final experience day set for 1 June in Seoul, we’re leaning towards a release in the first week of June.
