Oscar nominations were revealed Thursday and the list of actors vying for a coveted Academy Award includes 13 first-time nominees in the acting categories.

“The Apprentice,” starring Romanian-American actor Sebastian Stan in a blond wig and a whole lot of foundation, begins in the early 1970s and charts Trump’s rise and tumultuous personal life, with scenes depicting him taking drugs, getting a hair transplant and sexually assaulting his wife, Ivana.

"Emilia Perez," the Spanish-language story of a Mexican drug lord who transitions to a woman and starts a new life, earned 13 nominations. "The Brutalist," a 3 1/2-hour tale about a Holocaust survivor and architect chasing the American dream, and "The Wizard of Oz" prequel "Wicked" picked up 10 nods each.

The film, which earned two Academy Award nominations, was the subject of controversy after premiering at Cannes.

Daniel Craig gave one of his best performances as an American expat in Mexico in the torrid May-December romance in "Queer," but it hasn't been resonating with awards voters. The Oscar snub is the final piece in a puzzle that just never came together.
