People are urged to avoid a West Sacramento park Wednesday afternoon as police said they are investigating a shooting.

Sacramento police are investigating a homicide after officers found a man dead Wednesday morning in the city’s Old North Sacramento corridor. Officers responded just before 8:15 a.m. to the 700 block of Dixieanne Avenue, where the man was pronounced dead at the scene, said Officer Anthony Gamble, a Police Department spokesman.

West Sacramento police say there is an active scene at a park after a shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon.
