A 55-foot Cook Pine tree was selected for Honolulu's 40th City Lights celebration, symbolizing the holiday spirit for the community.

"A lot of times, we try to source Honolulu City Lights trees and Kapolei City Lights trees from park locations but on occasion, we get them from private donors."

AIEA, Hawaii (Island News) -- City crews harvested a tree in Aiea that will be the centerpiece for the Honolulu City Lights. The 55-foot Cork Pine tree was cut down on Tuesday morning, Nov. 11 in preparation for the holiday celebration. The tree that was harvested was taken at the intersection of Ka‘ahele Street and Holopuni Street.
