The NFL announced 35 compensatory draft picks awarded to 15 teams Tuesday, officially setting the order for the 2025 NFL Draft which is set to take place April 24-26. Compensatory picks are awarded to teams based on the number of compensatory free agents that leave the team the previous offseason.

Earlier in March, the Chiefs traded starting left guard Joe Thuney, a three-time Pro Bowler, to the Chicago Bears. The move saved the Chiefs $16 million in cap space, which helped free up money for Trey Smith's deal. Although Thuney was a first-team All-Pro in 2023 and 2024, he's headed to the Bears to help protect Caleb Willams.

After making Trey Smith the highest-paid guard in the NFL, the Chiefs moved to fill gaping hole on the offensive line, signing left tackle Jaylon Moore in free agency. The former San Francisco 49ers starter agreed to a two-year, $30 million deal, which includes $21.24 million fully guaranteed at signing, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
