The Carolina Panthers bolstered their backfield Wednesday, agreeing to a one-year deal with free agent running back Rico Dowdle.

Woods is now the second internal free agent for Carolina to reach a deal with the Titans on Tuesday. He joins punter Johnny Hekker, who also began his Panthers career in 2022. Free-agent quarterback Daniel Jones is signing a one-year, $14 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Carolina Panthers made a much-needed addition to their backfield on Wednesday. As first reported by Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, the team has come to terms on a one-year deal with former Dallas Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle.

Running back Rico Dowdle, fresh off his first career 1,000-yard season, is headed to Carolina. The Panthers announced they have agreed to terms with Dowdle on a one-year deal. According to NFL Media,

After a relatively quiet first few seasons to his career in Dallas, Dowdle rushed for 1,079 yards on 235 attempts, running in two TDs. He added another 3 TDs as a receiver. Dowdle
