If Sabathia and Beltran get in, it could be the first time players identified as Yankees and Mets on their Hall of Fame plaques are enshrined in the same year.

The New York Yankees have two new members of the Hall of Fame. One, Ichiro Suzuki, had a short stint with the team and will enter Cooperstown with another uniform. The other one, CC Sabathia, was a prominent figure in the Bronx from 2009 to 2019 and won his only World Series title in pinstripes.

CC Sabathia on Tuesday got the call that he had made the Baseball Hall of Fame. It did not take long for the former pitcher to make clear what team he wants to represent on his Hall of Fame plaque: the New York Yankees.
