The strike by Starbucks (NASDAQ:SBUX) baristas that are members of the Workers United union ended on December 24. However, the labor issues for the coffee chain are far from over. The union organized the strike to protest a lack of progress in contract negotiations with Starbucks (SBUX).
Starbucks barista strike expands on fifth day of closures
Earlier, Starbucks said the union “prematurely ended” a bargaining session and called for talks to continue. The coffee chain has said it’s focused on improving workers’ experience and that baristas who work at least 20 hours a week receive $30 an hour, on average, when combining pay and benefits.
