The Amarillo Police Department held a press conference today to provide details about a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning on Polk Street.

Two people suspected of being involved in the shooting early Sunday morning were arrested and charged with murder, according to police.

Amarillo Police say one man is dead, and nine others were injured in a shooting at a nightclub early Sunday morning. Investigators say the shooter, 23-year-old Robert Kenney Knox, of Amarillo, and the driver,

Police said the shooter exited the vehicle and opened fire into a crowd with a rifle before fleeing the scene.

"The motive here is inexcusable. ... Ugly, impulsive violence and something that we should not accept as a community," Chief Birkenfeld said.
