The Pittsburgh Steelers have a daunting 2025 offseason ahead. The quarterback, wide receiver, running back, defensive line and cornerback positions are all far from complete, which is not ideal given the current state of the AFC.

However, NFL insider Mike Florio believes the team can not give him an extension this year due to the potential sunken cost value the team could have if they gave Pickens a massive contract.

If the Jets decide to move on from Garrett Wilson, the Steelers should trade George Pickens for him while they still have leverage.

For as talented as Pickens is, and for as many highlight reel plays as he is capable of making, they had an extremely difficult time getting consistency from him, while he also proved to be a bit of a headache both on and off the field.

And in 2023, that was the case with the Pittsburgh Steelers and WR George Pickens. Then in 2024, that caught up to both of them, as Pickens only got worse in his behavior, and still received little repercussion.
