Alabama has elected Democrat Shomari Figures to Congress after courts forced the state to redraw district lines.

Alabama is one of only three states that does not allow early voting. After an Election Day that saw long lines, some GOP lawmakers are saying they support a look into having early voting in Alabama.

As the United States awaits a winner in the presidential race between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump, polls have closed in Alabama. All seven of the Yellowhammer State's congressional districts were up for election this year.
