Cold temperatures will linger through the end of the work week in Sarasota and Manatee counties, and forecasts show the coldest morning is yet to come.

As temperatures continue to plummet, Sarasota County is opening up cold weather shelters. If you go to a shelter, please note you will need to bring your own sleeping materials. Cold weather shelters will be offered this evening,

A wet, cold front is moving through west central and southwest Florida Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. A second drier cold front is expected to move through the area later in the week, bringing freezing temperatures and possibly frost into the Tampa Bay area and Manatee County.
