A huge search is underway for a Georgia teacher last seen more than a week ago celebrating his 50th birthday on a fishing boat with his fiancée — who was found dead in the lake the next day. Westminster Schools teacher and coach Gary Jones’ and his bride-to-be Joycelyn Wilson vanished on Feb.

Authorities are still searching for the man after his fiancé was found dead near the scene. The large-scale search continues for a Georgia teacher who has been missing for over a week, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

After the rain delayed much of the searching Wednesday on Lake Oconee, volunteers were back on the water Thursday looking for any sign of Gary Jones. He’s the Atlanta educator who was last seen on a boat with his fiancée Joycelyn Wilson on Feb.

It’s been 10 days since he disappeared while out on Lake Oconee with his fiancé. Search crews told Channel 2’s Tyisha Fernandes said the biggest obstacles they’ve had to deal with is a combination of trees under the water and the water being so cold.
