Thursday morning's snow was causing some difficulties for drivers across the Denver metro area. Snow started falling early in the morning and according to CBS Colorado's First Alert meteorologists, the system could bring roughly 1-3 inches of snow to areas south and east of Denver.

Law enforcement agencies reported icy and snow-packed roads across the Denver metro area and eastern plains after snow began falling early Thursday.

This system will start initially as snowfall Friday afternoon and evening; however, freezing rain and sleet will mix in with the snow Friday night due to warmer air in the upper levels of the atmosphere.
